To summarize: In our study, 59% of 90 sunflower seed samples and 80% of 92 cake samples collected from sunflower oil processors across Tanzania were contaminated with total aflatoxins. Moreover, 14% of seed samples and 17% of cake samples were contaminated with total aflatoxin concentrations above the action level of 20 ng/g, with several samples having in the several hundred ng/g of aflatoxin.
