Chemical extraction of marula oil was done to establish actual oil content by use of hexane / iso-propyl alcohol solvent in a soxhlet set up. Distillation was carried out on a Rotavapor system prior to oil purging using nitrogen gas. The results indicated that marula nuts have about 58.6% oil content.

Conclusion: The present study showed that palm kernel oil is rich in important food properties compared to some other oil seeds and nuts. The high quality protein showed its reliability as a good source of amino acids for children and adults. The physico-chemical properties indicated that it is edible, non drying
New Dawn Engineering - TWO-OPERATOR MANUAL MARULA NUT OIL
The Marula Nut Oil Press was developed by New Dawn Engineering to express the oil. It is a difficult nut to press containing little fibre, and it is a spongy, soft nut with a relatively high amount of oil. The seed must be pressed gently at first and as the oil level drops, the pressure can be increased.

Marula kernels are also a good source of protein, oil, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium and their oil is used in food preparations. Marula fruits could play a vital role in terms of nutrition to rural community who rely on the usage of the fruits, as they do not have easy access to other sources of nutrients.
GET PRICE6 Health Benefits Of Marula Oil, Uses And Side Effects
Marula oil is extracted from the white kernels of the marula fruit's seed. The fruit has a secondary extraction point of the oil as well, where it is obtained from the nut's outer husk [2].Used as a base in various cosmetic products and as a medicine, marula oil is rich in protein and possess various health benefits, which will be covered in the current article.
