I bought ramps, oil pan, oil, oil filter and oil filter wrench. I thought I was ready to go ahead and do the oil change but I realized that my oil filter (purolator one PL14610) didn't come with any gaskets or anything like I thought it was supposed to from the videos on youtube i watched.

If it wasn't designed to run full synth, don't use it. The main point to remember with diesel engines is to use a good oil and filter and change it frequently. They deposit a lot of crud in the oil over a fairly short period of time, so renewing the oil and filter on a regular basis will keep the condition as good as possible.

My new to me ’56 willys, with a 134 F Head engine, came to me without a oil filter, It appears the bracket I need to install a filter attaches under a head bolt. I’m a little concerned about removing a head bolt just to install a bracket to hold the oil filter attach bracket, for fear of starting a head gasket leak.
